Awestruck Dance Company
Fall 2025* Awestruck will serve as ensemble for the fall show, as well as retaining its original purpose and vision as stated below.
What Is It?
A word from company director Veronika Johnson:
Nowadays a lot of natural movement and creativity is blocked by our society’s conception of what is “pretty” dancing. I have watched many dance shows and performances throughout my life, and I’ve come to understand that for me, the real beauty of dance is discovered by a cohesiveness of dance technique and a personal connection of the dancer to their movement.
In this company, students will learn how to listen to their body’s senses and its urges to express movement naturally. They will learn how to increase their awareness to different body parts, movement qualities and interaction with each other.
Since we are all made by our Creator and made to create, this class will be not only be about learning a new way to move but dancers will be invited to create their very own part of the choreographies. Like its name, this company is meant to find a dancer’s personal “AWESTRUCK” dance expression, tell the “AWESTRUCK” messages of the gospel through dance, and hopefully leave the audience with an “AWESTRUCK” filled heart for God!
Who Is It For?
Awestruck is for adult dancers seeking go deeper into their artistry and heart of their passion for dance. This semester only, we are inviting Senior dancers to join the company.
When Is It
Awestruck will meet every Sunday from 6:00-7:50pm.
Other Info
*This semester (Fall 2025) Awestruck will serve as the Ensemble for the production, Stand Strong! Much of class will be utilized to learn choreography for the show while following the goals of Awestruck as time allow. Seniors and Adults are welcome to join, and auditions will be held during class time for various parts. All dancers will receive stage time during narrations, but amount of appearances and placement will depend on audition results, attendance, and dancer schedules as well as show lineup. Due to the high commitment of this class, dancers are permitted one unexcused absence during the semester (not including sick days or family emergencies). Please notify Veronika before the first day of class if there are any planned trips or school-related absences so that a plan can be made for learning missed material.
Storyline Dance Company

What is it?
Storyline is Jubilee Dance’s youth outreach dance company.
Rehearsal time focuses on dance devotionals and prayer, team building and games, rehearsal of company repertoire, and choreography and creation of new pieces both for outreaches and the mission trip.
The year culminates in an annual mission trip to White Swan Indian Reservation in Yakama, WA.
Who is it for?
Storyline dancers are passionate about sharing Jesus through dance in the community and hope to fill the company with dancers who want to be a part of that mission with their whole hearts.
Storyline is for ages 12-16 (11 year olds may join with good referral from teachers based on experience and maturity level).
Applicants to Storyline Dance Company must also be registered for at least one other dance class at Jubilee to be considered.
The application is due by August 14.

Storyline will not likely be performing in shows this year as we want our sole focus in rehearsal time to be on student leadership and choreography we will use for outreaches and the mission trip! If there ends up being a piece that would work with the shows, we might end up performing, however, that will not be the emphasis of our time together.
Being a part of Storyline means being available for a December outreach, April weekend mission trip, as well as a few other opportunities such as help hosting Fall Fest and an exciting Banners workshop from the UK in the spring. Dancers must intend to make space in their calendars for as many of these commitments as possible - between 4 and 6 different dates.

(Those who have been in Storyline previously must annually reapply.)
