Hair - should always be pulled out of the face (bun, ponytail, half-up, headband, etc.).

Shoes - we are hoping to dance as barefoot as possible! Barefoot dancing allows the sensors on our feet to connect to the floor and find stability.

Toe undies, half-shoes, ballet slippers, or jazz shoes are optional for Jazz, Contemporary, Worship Lyrical, and Lyrical classes.

Clothing - all clothing should be modest and formfitting, easy to move in. That includes leggings, shorts, skirts, leotards, and some sweatpants (if they don't get in the way).

Hip Hop
Cardio Dance Fitness

Hip Hop - Same as clothing above, with the addition of shoes. Comfortable, clean street shoes such as sneakers, converse, tennis shoes, etc. are required. Any color is fine. Students should keep the bottoms of their shoes quite clean so as not to scratch our floor.

Cardio Dance Fitness - clothes to move and sweat in! Tennis shoes/gym shoes recommended.

Ballet

Ballet - The Jubilee ballet staff is excited to share updates to the structure of our ballet level offerings to enhance your child’s positive experience in ballet class. We will begin to label ballet classes as numeric levels: Levels 1, 2 and 3.

Tinies and Littles Ballet (ages 6 and below) will remain the same and not have numeric levels. In general, the difficulty of the class increases with the levels. Level I is a beginner class and Level III is the most advanced student ballet class we currently offer. The goal is to more closely align our classes with ballet technique-based curriculum rather than solely going off of a student’s age. We are providing rough age outlines below, but please note there will always be exceptions depending on a child’s experience, and the Jubilee ballet staff is more than happy to talk with you about which class will allow your child to thrive and grow in both ballet technique and their love for dancing for Jesus!

  • Tinies/Littles: 3-4 and 5-6

    • One class per week

    • Leotard color: Pink or Lavender, with optional ballet skirt

  • BOYS - in all levels: white shirt, black pants (dance pants, sweats, tights), black ballet slippers

We are asking each level to wear a specific leotard color to equalize the classroom environment. This will increase focus on the dancing and praising of our gracious God, and remove any dress-related distractions. It’s also quite fun for your dancer to get a new leotard color as they progress through the levels - it’s like earning your stripes and a proud moment for any ballet student!
